Absynth Cookbook

This document is the start of an ongoing attempt to create a simple tutorial describing ways to "cook up" patches in Native Instruments Absynth 3. This document is freely available and because it's in an HTML format, so it can easily be edited by anyone who's interested regardless of which platform they prefer. The original Absynth cookbook documents were generated in the Freeware program HTML Kit . The concept was developed by Gourd Fortissimo who performs in the experimental goofball collective Jopy. If you want your name in lights, just add it!

This document and all associated parts of the cookbook are freely available and cannot be sold. Use the cookbook however you like, give it away, make copies, change it up, have fun. Don't try to sell it! It's free!

The presentation of the HTML is kept deliberately simple to maintain the "open" component of the cookbook. All links for the cookbook will refer only internally or to other stable websites and none should link to any for-profit site. The cookbook is designed following the Creative Commons concept of open-source copyrights.

Although the format of the cookbook is designed to be open so anyone can use it, I personaly would prefer that this does not duplicate the user manual material or bite off the DVD that NI has made available. NI has a right to make money off of their products and I don't want to facilitate software piracy or copyright violations.

Chapters

This part of the Cookbook will be updated as new chapters become available. Chapters listed in red are already completed, while chapters listed in blue will be available in the future.

The format for chapters is pretty much up to each person. Gourd Fortissimo plans to start each chapter from the oscillator screen, then move through the tabs in sequence. This isn't very realistic in terms of how sounds are generated by most users of Absynth, but it probably makes the "recipe" easier to follow.
